9runrun IS NOW LIVE AND VIRTUAL—WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
We are carefully moving back to in-person events, following all Ottawa Public Health protocols. The 10k event is scheduled to be an in-person event on Saturday, October 16 at 9:00 am, all other distances will be virtual for you to enjoy at your own pace. Please visit the 10k page for course map and parking information.

HOW CAN I DONATE IF I CAN’T PARTICIPATE OR FUNDRAISE?
Thank you for your generous support. A donation to Ottawa First Responders Foundation can be made here. You will receive two emails from RaceRoster upon completion of the transaction, one of those being a charity tax receipt, the other proof of your donation.
WILL THERE BE A RACE KIT PICKUP?
Those who are running the in-person 9runrun 10k will pick up their race kits at Bushtukah’s Stittsville location, 5607 Hazeldean Road on October 14 and 15 between 10 am and 6 pm. Our virtual participants will receive their race kits by mail (see below).
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS A FOURTH WAVE AND WE’RE BACK IN LOCKDOWN?
9runrun will go 100% virtual in accordance with the Public Health regulations at that time. 9runrun will offer you the opportunity to switch to virtual and refund a portion of your registration or refund 100% of your registration fee and add ons. This applies to in-person 9runrun 10K registrants only.
WHAT COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS WILL BE IN PLACE FOR THE IN-PERSON EVENT?
Our priority is to protect the health and safety of our participants, volunteers and staff. To ensure this, we will comply with all applicable public health guidelines or requirements issued by the Ontario government and Ottawa Public Health.
The guidelines regarding the reopening of Ontario are subject to change. 9runrun’s COVID mitigation plan will be made available in advance of the event. Please review your emails prior to the event, or follow 9runrun on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
DO I NEED TO BE VACCINATED TO PARTICIPATE? WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO HAVE AS PROOF OF FULL COVID VACCINATION?
The Ontario Ministry of Health provided you with a hard and soft copy of your vaccination, you can show us your paper copy or show us the copy that was emailed using your mobile device.
We only need to see your proof of vaccination, we won’t be storing or recording any sensitive information.
I CAN’T GET VACCINATED FOR MEDICAL REASONS, MAY I STILL PARTICIPATE?

WILL THERE BE A CHILI COOK-OFF?
At this time, with COVID protocols and in order to keep everyone safe, there won’t be a chili cook-off. Should COVID protocols allow for the cook-off to take place, we’ll make our announcements through email and 9runrun’s social media channels.
IS THE IN-PERSON RACE KIT DIFFERENT THAN THE VIRTUAL KIT?
Receive all the great 9runrun race swag except the individual finish line tape:
- Your 9runrun race shirt, if you’ve registered before September 23, shirts are now sold out.
- Your 9runrun race bib
- Your 9runrun finisher’s medal
This is YOUR race! You can run any time between October 9-24, 2021. Choose a route in your neighbourhood or visit somewhere special while adhering to your local Public Health guidelines on your race day.
I WOULD LIKE TO SWITCH TO THE IN-PERSON 9RUNRUN 10K. HOW CAN I DO THIS?.

WILL THERE BE RACE RESULTS FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT?
Register for the virtual race and run anytime between October 9th to October 24th, 2021, and use your favourite running app (Garmin, Strava, RunKeeper, MapMyRun, etc.) to track your results! You will be able to upload GPX file or manually upload your results to Race Roster starting October 9, 2021. You will receive step-by-step instructions from Race Roster on how to upload to their system in advance of October 9, 2021. WHAT PARTICIPANT AMENITIES WILL I RECEIVE FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT AND WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THEM?
Receive all the great 9runrun race swag! Register by Wednesday, September 15 to receive your race kit on or before October 9, including:
- Your 9runrun race shirt, if you registered before September 23rd, shirts are now sold out.
- Your 9runrun race bib
- Your 9runrun finisher’s medal
- Your 9runrun finisher’s tape
For those who’ve registered prior to September 15th, we expect your race kit will be in your mailbox before October 9th, please note that COVID-19 safety guidelines and restrictions may be in place and its impact on Canada Post could cause a slight delay in receiving your run kit.

I CAN’T PARTICIPATE ANYMORE, CAN I GET A REFUND?
Sorry, there are no refunds on the 9runrun races. However, you can transfer your registration to another participant, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
HOW CAN I PERSONALIZE MY MEDAL?
iTAB fits perfectly onto the ribbon of your 9runrun medal, engraved with your Name and Finish Time, and is a great way to celebrate your achievement. Your personalized iTab will be mailed directly to you within one month of the completion of your 2021 virtual race. You can order an iTab when you register.
