Bibs, Refunds, Cancellation and Transfers

Q: Why does my bib want me to list any medical conditions and the number of an emergency contact on the back?
A: This is extremely important and hopefully will never be needed but if it is, our medical team will be better equipped to help you and/or contact your loved ones.

Q: I cannot run. Can I get a refund?
A: Sorry, there are no refunds.  However, you will be able to transfer your bib to another runner.

Q: Can I change from one race to another?
A: Bib transfers will be available online until October 8th, 11:59 pm. To make a transfer, login to your Participant Dashboard using the link in your registration confirmation email.

Cancellation Policy

Race Officials, in accordance with management executives, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather or threat of terrorism. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided since funds will have been spent in preparation for Race Day.

Race Kit Pick-Up

Q: When can I pick up my race kit?
A: Race Kit Pick-up is on Thursday, October 15th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, October 16th from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. Visit Race Kit Pick-Up for more details.

Q: Can someone else pick up my race kit for me?
A: Yes. They must be able to provide the email address used for registration.

Q: Can I pick up my race kit on race day?
A: Yes, but volunteers will be limited so please arrive EARLY to avoid lineups.  *Note that shirt sizes may be limited on race day pickup.

Q: Will I get a technical shirt with my registration?
A: 10k and ½ Marathon runners registered by the October 1st deadline will receive long sleeve technical shirts.  (shirts will NOT be available with registration after October 1st – so register now!!)All 2k-ish participants will receive short sleeve cotton shirts.

Q: What if I selected the wrong shirt size and it doesn’t fit?
AThere will be no shirt exchanges at Race Kit Pick-Up.  Shirt exchanges will only be done on race day and only if available.

Q: When is the deadline to register?
A: Registration will remain open till race day. But register before October 1st to be guaranteed your 9runrun shirt. No shirts will be included for participants registering after Oct 1st.

Race Details

Q: Where is the start line for the 2k’ish Family fun run?
A: Village Square Park, which is located on the corner of Stittsville Main Street and Abbott Street East, start time 10:00 am.

Q: Where can I park?
A: There is lots of parking. Sacred Heart School, Bradley’s Insurance (Main St), Frederick Banting High School (Main St), Jean-Paul II School.  Arrive early to find a spot and avoid delays due to road closures.

Q: When should I be at the start line?
A: Plan to arrive at the START at least 15-20 minutes before race time. Did we say….ARRIVE EARLY!!

Q: Where is race headquarters?
A: Race headquarters are located at Village Square Park (South East corner at Abbott St & Stittsville Main).

Q: Where are the Pre & Post Race Festivities?
A: Pre & Post-race Festivities take place at Village Square Park.

Q: Are there porta-potties by the start?
A: Yes, as well as at Village Square Park and along the route at each water station.

Q: Are there water stations at the start?
A: No, but water is available along the route. See the Half Marathon and 10K race pages for more information.

Q: Are gels available on route?
A: Yes, there is one Gel station on the Half Marathon route.

Q: Who does the timing for 9RUNRUN?
A: Sportstat.ca

Q: Where can I get my race results?
A: Results are available online at www.sportstat.ca

Q: Where is the post-race food for runners?
A: At Village Square Park, on the corner of Abbott & Main. Non participants can make a donation and receive chili.

Race Rules

Q: Are cycles, bikes, strollers, wheels of any kind allowed on the 10k or 1/2 marathon routes?
A: Sorry, for the safety of all participants wheeled vehicles are not permitted on any of our routes. *The only exception is strollers are allowed on the Family 2K route

Q: Can I bring my stroller on the run?
A: Strollers are ONLY permitted on the 2K route

Q: Can I bring my dog on the run?
A: Sorry – no dogs, only humans!


Q: Is there somewhere to check a bag while I am running?
A: Yes, there will be a bag check in the Village Square Park.

Q: Is there a Lost & Found?
A: Yes, at Village Square Park.

Q: Where is First Aid? Medical Tent?
A: At the Finish Line. First aid will also be along the route.

Q: Are there other activities?
A: Yes! Music, face-painting, exhibits….lots for all!
