9runrun IS NOW VIRTUAL—WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

The purpose of going virtual is to open registration to everyone and to allow participants to complete the race that they have been training for, while adhering to the recommendations provided by public health.

ALL CURRENTLY REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS will be automatically entered into the 9runrun Virtual Race and will receive their race kits, including their 9runrun medal, race bib, and shirt. You are not obligated to submit your race results in order to receive your medal, custom bib, finish line bib and awesome shirt

 

WHEN CAN I RUN MY VIRTUAL EVENT?

Virtual 9runrun will take place from October 9 to October 25, 2020. Register by Tuesday, September 15 to receive your race kit on or before October 9, 2020 

 

WILL THE COURSE BE PRE-SET OR CAN I MAKE ONE UP?

This is YOUR race! You can run on a treadmill or choose your own route for the virtual event—we suggest you adhere to Public Health Agencies’ guidelines and try to stay within your neighbourhood, and please practice physical distancing. You can: 

  • create fun loops
  • set-up your own fuel/water station in your yard
  • run past fire stations/police stations/paramedics bays
  • wave to first responders
  • tell your neighbours so they can cheer you on from their porches! 
  • create a Start and Finish line
  • set up a finish photo and share it online #9runrun2020

 

WILL THERE BE RACE RESULTS FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT?

Register for the virtual race and run anytime between October 9th to October 25th, 2020, and use your favourite running app (Garmin, Strava, RunKeeper, MapMyRun, etc.) to track your results! You will be able to upload GPX file or manually upload your results to Race Roster starting October 9, 2020. On that date, you will receive step-by-step instructions from Race Roster on how to upload to their system. If you have any questions around timing your race, please visit the Race Roster

 

WHAT PARTICIPANT AMENITIES WILL I RECEIVE FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT?

Receive all the great 9runrun race swag! Register by Tuesday, September 15 to receive your race kit on or before October 9, including:

  • Your 9runrun race shirt 
  • Your 9runrun race bib
  • Your 9runrun finisher’s medal
  • Your 9runrun finisher’s tape

 

WILL THERE BE AWARDS FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT?

Yes, thanks to our race sponsors and partners there will be random prize draws after October 25th, 2020

 

HOW CAN I VERIFY MY REGISTRATION RIGHT NOW?

Already registered for 9runrun? Login into your dashboard on Race Roster to verify registration.

 

CAN I TRANSFER MY VIRTUAL RACE ENTRY TO ANOTHER PERSON?

A transfer is to be used if you can no longer run and wish to transfer your entry to another person who is willing to take your entry. Please use the step-by-step instructions found below. We will be waiving all transfer fees for 2020.

HOW CAN I PERSONALIZE MY MEDAL?

iTAB fits perfectly onto the ribbon of your 9runrun medal, engraved with your Name and Finish Time, and is a great way to celebrate your achievement. Your personalized iTab will be mailed directly to you within one month of the completion of your 2020 virtual race. You can order an iTab when you register.

 

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Entry fees are non-refundable under all circumstances. That means that once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund for any reason and you will not be able to defer your entry for another year. 9runrun in accordance with management executives, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather or threat of terrorism. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided since funds will have been spent in preparation for race day
